Check our 2017 update
Whenever I pitch about global crowdsourced delivery, people will first enquire about security. (If they do not think or even say I'm a fool.)
Well, I'll try to prove I'm not completely crazy or at least, I'll try to demonstrate there is many of us fools around! As we launched PiggyBee in 2012, there were only several actors around. Along some dead, only a few had tried before (...before the rise of the sharing economy). As from today, we are counting many competitors! (including some friends ;) Whether they call it crowdshipping, peer to peer shipping, p2p shopping, ... Please find below our non exhaustive list.
As far as I know, no one has really taken off yet (or showed any strong traction).
Security later in the list, I have identified problems for our startups to be:
(in order of importance and not including business model)
- critical mass
- last mile delivery
- trust (I talk more about it here)
I hope and strongly believe this market will be huge and would love to hear from you.
Please advise if you want to add/remove/modify anything on this list.
